Dunham has conducted a series of 100 interviews of organizational members in over a dozen countries on four continents. These two video Podcasts are short examples drawn from two of those interviews. The three-minute, 22-second interview excerpt with Tina Chan was conducted in Hong Kong where she works for P & G. In the interview, Tina discusses what encouraged her to accept a job at P & G. The two-minute, one-second interview excerpt with Amir Farooqi was conducted in Singapore where he worked for Cargill. In the interview, Amir discusses organizational culture and the importance of ethics in the behavior of Cargill employees. Interview Podcasts such as these are used in a variety of Dunham's classes.
Vignettes
Leaving (0:11)
Conflict Example (0:38)
Dunham has developed a series of approximately 80 short video vignettes that are used in classes to illustrate organizational events and to elicit discussion about course content. These two video Podcasts are examples of these. The eleven-second "Leaving" vignette shows an example of an employee who has decided to quit his job in the face of ongoing organizational change. The 38-second "Conflict Example" vignette is used to introduce students to an in-class discuss of interpersonal conflict at the workplace by showing an example of an escalating conflict at work. If you are interested in free copies of the vignette series to use in your classes, contact Randi Huntsman (rhuntsman@bus.wisc.edu). The vignettes are available as Podcasts, as WMV files and as H.264 QuickTime files for easy free-standing use or embedded in PowerPoint slides.
